financial aid counselor salary
I don’t think I’d ever apply for a job if I didn’t feel I could pay my bills and keep my house. I know that this isn’t always the case, but it is a fact that most of us have a job that pays well. As with so many things, it is about the dollars and cents.
Here in the “real” world there are three types of people, namely: those who work, those who don’t work, and those who don’t know what they work for. When it comes to salary, there is not one correct answer to this question. However, there are a few things to keep in mind. First, we will never know for sure what a person’s “salary” is unless he or she tells you.
One thing that we do know for sure is that the average salary in the United States is approximately $53,000. This is not too much to pay for a person to perform these tasks. It also doesn’t exactly seem to be enough money to pay for a high school diploma, so the person may be a bit of an academic snob.
But if this person is a career counselor, he or she will probably be taking a little bit of extra income. That is, if this person has a specific job title, the average salary for this job title is above 53,000. In fact, if you are looking at a salary for a career counselor, you will probably see that the average salary for this job title is above 60,000.
I suppose there are people with an extremely high salary for a specific job title. My friend, who is not a career counselor but has a degree in management, started a career as a financial aid counselor at a local university. Her salary was $77,000 a year. If she makes that all the time, that is a pretty good salary even for a school counselor. But she was the only one who can be considered a “real” career counselor.
Of course this salary is not a life-changing salary. It’s not even a salary that will mean anything to most people. But it is a salary that will allow her to enjoy the time she spends as a financial aid counselor. And that is a pretty big perk. I’m amazed by the low salaries, the low salaries that don’t even make a dent in the amount of money employers spend on hiring outside of college grads.
The salary for a financial aid counselor varies widely by institution. Some do not pay any salary, while others pay a hefty amount. But what I find interesting is that some of them are not even a professional counselor. For example, a few of the ones I was able to meet said that they were not counseling people, but were instead doing some sort of consulting. These are people who are not professionals in the sense that they would be called a counselor.
What these financial aid counselors are doing is essentially performing a job for which they get paid. This is not a bad thing, but it depends on where you are. For example, a bank will pay a financial aid counselor in the low end, while a private college will pay a professional counselor in the high end. The fact that these people are making so much money while doing this doesn’t seem like a good thing.
Most colleges and universities will pay you for whatever you do, but if that is not the case, then you will need to find an employer who will make you a professional counselor. There are a number of possible employers who may pay you. I’ve only been to a few, but one in particular paid me $7,700 while I was there. Even if your job is not what you would consider a professional, you can still do the job by yourself.
Its not difficult to find a good job. You just need to be aware of what to do with the extra money that comes with having a job. If you have a family, you may want to consider saving that money, for retirement or to pay off debt and to improve your credit score. If you have been a professional for a while, you may want to consider getting a home loan so you can invest in your own home.
